It's day 6 for us in Thailand (and the most enjoyable day ever!!)Why did I (actually, all of us) enjoy the 6th day the most? I'll tell you why; because we visited the Elephant Safari which included an elephant ride, ox-cart ride and bamboo rafting! And afterwhich, we had neverending photo-snapping sessions at the Orchid and Butterfly Farm.
If that ain't cool, then I don't know what "cool" is!
The moment we finished breakfast, you could tell that we were all really enthusiastic about the day's activities judging from the looks of our faces. EVERYONE WAS WIDE AWAKE WHILE ON THE COACH! On other days, I would be snoozing onboard until we reached our destination. But not on day number 6. No, no, no!!!
This adorable little fella greeted us when our coach drove into the Safari
The girls were squealing when they saw the elephant at the entrance. They then fished out their cameras and began snapping... Even Tham was busy taking snapshots of the elephants (and she's afraid of animals)! Mr Bala? Haiyoh... what can I say about our crazy lecturer?? HE DIDN'T BRING A DIGITAL CAMERA ALONG. Omg!! How can you go to Thailand without a camera and don't kick yourself in the butt for it?! =p
Moving on, tourists were able to purchase bananas and sugarcanes to feed the elephants before they go off for their bath. Mr Bala, being the happening person that he is, bought multiple bunches of bananas and let us feed them.
Since I was just standing beside him and he knew that I take pictures of practically EVERYTHING, he asked me to feed the elephant while he takes a photo of me feeding it.
I said ok and passed him the camera. But the moment I stretched out my arm with the sugarcane, the elephant snatched it from me and I screamed my lungs out... therefore, the picture turned out like this,
NOT FUNNY!
Mr Bala: Ok! Perfect! I managed to capture the moment after it took the sugarcane and before your scream!
This ang-moh lady seemed to have no problems during the feeding session...
This young lady did pretty well too... ;)
BABY ELEPHANT AND IT'S MUMMY!!
SHOWER TIME IN THE RIVER!!!
Walking into the cool, muddy water with their trainers
A lil' bit of entertaining
My fingers were nimble enough to get the picture snapped on time! Cute right?!
It was show-time after they got scrubbed clean from head to toe. Hurray!! At the starting of the show, they had this "formal greeting" session whereby the elephants (both young and old) walked towards us in a straight line holding a signboard that said, "WELCOME!".
Baby elephant giving a bouquet of flowers to a tourist
And the show began... (I was sitting with Nura, Mei Ping and psycho Phoebe. So yu can imagine how noisy and hyper we were!)
Baby elephant dancing!
I couldn't stop laughing at the dance routine! The baby elephant in the picture was just shaking it's head and trunk; kinda looked like it was in some kinda trance. I bet I sounded like a hyena.. best part is, we were all sitting in the front row some more. The little elephant was just too cute lah!!!
PLAYING INSTRUMENTS *clang clang clang*
HIGHLIGHT OF THE SHOW; Orachai, the star elephant painting a master-piece.
Here's his completed drawing. *sob sob* He can draw better than me.
Elephant soccer! Orachai as the striker and the goalkeeper's a... baby elephant?!
Next up was the elephant ride. I got paired up with Mr Bala! HAHAHAHA!! There will never be a quiet moment when you're with him, cause he talks about the most interesting stuff. Half the time, we were chatting about (of all things to be chatted about) TOADSTOOLS!
This was what I saw when I looked down from my seat
Xueling and Mei Ping had a baby elephant following them!
Hiuyan and Phoebe's elephant walked really S-L-O-W-L-Y. They were in front of Mr Bala and I at the start... say cheese, girls!!

That photo was taken at the beginning of the elephant ride, while crossing the river. The elephant that Mr Bala and I were riding on overtook theirs and voila... they're BEHIND!!! Buahahaha!!
Bye-bye to the both of you...!!!! =P
This dude with the yellow collar was our ox-cart driver (is there such a word?). And his name is Kim. My long lost bro lah!
Phoebe and I (both seated at the back) were about the take a picture of ourselves when the oxen suddenly bolted!! Thus, another unglam photo was taken -_-"
We overtook three other ox-carts; that's how fast our oxen ran! While Phoebe and I were busy screaming and clinging onto the giant umbrella for dear life, Mr Bala and Hiuyan were enjoying the mini-rollercoaster. Then Kim (not me!) made Hiuyan take over his job.
After that bumpy ride with the oxen, it was lunch time!! The Safari rocks big time!! Buffet lunch.. simply yummilicious ;)

So while I was eating, I noticed a relatively good-looking Thai guide at the tourguides' table. I asked Tham, "Eh, that guy at Pat's table not bad hor?"
She immediately assumed that I had a crush on him and wanted me to pose with him for a picture!! Duh, I refused lah! And you know what that crazy woman did? She called out to Pat (our tour-guide) and shouted, "PAT! Call your guy friend to come here. Kim want to take photo with him lah!"
I ran off the the buffet table and hid there for awhile until that guy approached Tham. I then walked back with this nonchalant expression plastered on my face (not easy ok! I was controlling my laughter) and when Tham pointed me out to the guy, I made this astonished look and went, "Huh? What's going on? Take photo with him? For what?!"
The guy thought Tham was pulling a prank on me, the victim. HAHAHAHA!! He even told me there's "no need to be shy". If Tham wants a picture of us, "let her take picture of us". OMGGGG!!!!

Evil nurse Tham kept asking me to "stand closer" cause she "cannot get (us) into the screen".
Damn awkward moment, I tell you! Xueling, Tham and Tami were giggling NON-STOP after that dude went back to his table. Kept saying stuff like, 'Kim, you like him right? Say lah... you like him!", "You want his number? I help you ask Pat for his number!" and "You ah... very good actress! Pretend only!!".
WHATEVER!!
BAMBOO RAFTING.
I had one hell of a ride with the physio girls.
The strong winds gave me a really fugly center-parting. Goodness me!!
Tami (in black) has a very huge smile here... I wonder could it be because one ang-moh guy joined them on their raft... *drifts off in deep thought*
Well, strong winds soon lead to a slight drizzle and eventually a really heavy downpour!
You cheeky lil' minx! NOW YOU KNOW WHY TAMI WAS SO HAPPY?! Basket! Just look at them! That's scandal number 2! And again, it's an ang-moh dude!!
They look like they're on some romantic boat ride in Venice! And it's so unfair that they were given umbrellas to keep themselves dry.Look at what we got!
Hiuyan, Mei Ping and I didn't bother staying under the plastic sheet for long. Our arms ached like bitches! So we got drenched... every single inch of our bodies.
The fun began after the rain stopped
It's not as easy as it looks alright... Mei Ping and I kept hitting the ricks with the stick. hahaha! We then asked the guy who was oar-ing (?!) to show his biceps to us. I'm telling you, it was HUGE!!
Here we are, monkeying around before leaving for the Orchid Farm.
Err... got too many pictures from the Orchid Farm la. So I'm just gonna post up two of my faves. Hahaha!!
I simply adore flowers of this colour!
Don't say "aloha!". Try "Sawaddi ka"
BUTTERFLY FARM NEXT!
I really had no clue that butterflies feasted on bananas and pineapples! I learnt so much from the trip. Lol!
Smile, pretty darlings!
Try spotting the yellow butterfly!
More butterflies... but couldn't manage any outstanding shots lah.
THIS PICTURE DESERVES AN AWARD, IMHO!!!!
That's all for now. Day 7 shall be up soon... really soon... before attachment starts! Haha!
