Overdued: 3rd day in Chiangmai (the longest post I have ever written!)

On this very day, we all visited this place:

We had lunch and a talk session in here:

How it looks like inside:

I was seated right next to The Dean ok! Super scary, I tell you.

Group picture with The Dean (in blue):

Snacks provided:

It was freezing cold in the conference room and I didn't have my jacket with me. Couldn't borrow Nura's, cause that girl didn't bring hers along either. Therefore, we didn't dare touch the packet of drink for fear of having to pee halfway through the talk (you know how rude it is right?).

Poor Pauline had to finish the drinks for us... HAHAHAHA!! If I'm not mistaken, she had to gulp down more than four packets of it. You go, girl! Train those kidneys and bladder!!

The Associate Dean took us around campus and here are a few things you never get to see in School of Health Science, Nanyang Polytechnic:

Believe it or not, these bikes belong to the students!!

Hostels for foreign students

Newspaper/Magazine stand

And who can forget; Student nurses is these uniforms!

Wah... big difference from the uniforms of NYP, NP and ITE. Seriously man, compare it to this:

Mr Bala saw a group of junior nurses waiting for their class to start when we exited from the elevator and he was like, "Eh, Kim. You like to take pictures of everything right? Come, I take picture of you and them together. Come, come!"

Yeah, yeah... laugh if you want

The Associate Dean and The Head of Nursing Department (I don't know how to spell their names lah!)
Hibiscrub and Alcohol handrub... LoL!! Cute.

Paediatrics training

Specially imported from Japan; Say hello to SAKURA.

A shot of us with a Nursing lecturer. Her uniform is so... what's that word?!

Oh, and nurses in Thailand wear white shoes instead of black ones. Another difference to be added onto the already super long list of differences.

From left to right: Tami, Thamarai, nursing lecturer (don't make me spell her name pls!), me, Nura!

We had lunch here:

View of Mae Ping river from where we sat

After lunch, it was back to CMU for some physio experiments.

Err... sorry but I had no idea what was going on half the time. Pai seh lah... but I was focusing 100% during the experiment period ok! As little as I know about Physiotherapy, here are a bunch of pictures of the cheem stuff that went on...

OMG!!!! Headache ah...!!!

Measuring pain-score!!! (this one, I know)

My headache's getting worse... Pain-score is 12 out of 10 =p

Poor Hiuyan... pushing and pushing and pushing NON-STOP!!

Secret fact: Tham had a crush on that male lecturer. WAHAHAHA!!!
It was shopping after that!! Our favourite past-time (that is, if you exclude Mr Bala). Haha! This time round, Pat brought us to a shopping mall which is waaaayyyy bigger than Vivo City combined with Takashimaya.

The place was huge... but nothing caught my eye. So Nura and I spent most of our time binging and having bitchy girls' talk. She's a great listener, I swear!

The first thing that caught our attention was.... very sinful....

I don't know if these sweet confections are from Heaven or hell. They're so good, you'd think they're sent from above. But here's the catch; they taste so good and you keep buying them over and over again, you'd think they're temptations from hell!

As if gobbling doughnuts by the truckload wasn't enough, we went to Swensens -_-"

After eating so much and gaining all those calories, Nura and I decided to just walk around and let time pass us by. Obviously we were conversing in English and we so happened to pass by this bar where that bloody Ang-moh guy was drinking his heart out...

AND IT DIDN'T HELP THAT I STOOD IN FRONT OF THE BAR AND TOOK A PICTURE OF IT'S CONCEPT!

Rrrrrrraaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!! Whatever happened after that Ang-moh turkey spotted us is HISTORY!

-post on Day 4 up soon!!-

Why can't you just be happy?!

For once, be happy for me! That's all I'm asking for... I don't need to be splashed with ice-cold water at the very beginning.

I'm currently contented (make that VERY contented) with what I have and who I'm with. So with him and I being in the early stages of it all, I don't need anyone to keep reminding me that it won't last, it's just puppy love, it's just yada yada yada.

Nobody has the right to make such a comment or judgement because so far, I haven't come across anyone who's the "undisputed expert of relationship problems". So unless you've that title under your belt, BACK OFF!

He doesn't call me everyday and neither does he sms me 24/7 to check out on me. But that's exactly what I like about him. He gives me my own private time with my friends, my family and most importantly, myself. I don't need to hear his voice every second of the day to know that he cares. Afterall, the things that he does for me outshines a million lines of repetitive love-lines like, "I love you".

Everybody and anybody can go on saying, "I love you, I miss you, I can't without you". These cliche kinda talk is so adolescent. In fact, it is being used so often that it has lost it's true meaning TOTALLY.

So no thank you, I don't wanna be a part of that. I don't wanna go through the same phase and end up in the same state as these people have.

He's having exams now. Which is part of the reason why nobody sees me messaging him or giving him calls to check on him.

Firstly, the guy's studying! Why would I want to disrupt his momentum when his paper is just the very next day?! Not only would I be irritating him, it'll be unfair to him as well because he didn't bug every 10 seconds during my examination period, so the least I can do is to return the favour right?

Secondly, it is not the quantity of time we spend together that counts. I'd go for quality instead!

For example, we could be spending the whole day with each other but most of the time, we're arguing over mundane stuff like why this party didn't call the other or why this party went out with his friends without informing the other. Either that or, we could just meet up for 10 pathetic minutes but whatever takes place within that short time frame is irreplaceable.

WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

So what if we don't appear holding hands in school?

So what if we're keeping it under the wraps?

Does a relationship need to have a whole lot of physical activity for it to be considered a "true relationship"? That sounds an awful lot like lust instead. And does a relationship need to be announced and made known to the whole of the student population for it to be considered "official"? I don't see a point of having to do such a thing.

What?! The more people know about it, the longer our relationship will last meh?

If someone finds out about it, good for that person. If nobody every discovers it, no biggie. We'll still go about our business; we'll still hang out, we'll still call each other, we'll still let each other know that we care.

See?! It doesn't make much of a difference whether or not we "go public".

Yeah, some of you might say, "You both just started out. Wait until you've encountered problems and then your relationship will never be the same again".

My parents got separated for two years back when I was still a kid. But low and behold (praise the Lord!), they're back together and their bond as husband and wife has never been stronger.

Nobody said anything about a two person relationship being easy. Arguments and disagreements are inevitable but hey, I'm determined to prove to ya'll that just because many couples break up due to "irreconcilable differences", it doesn't prove anything that mine will end up just like theirs.

So gimme a break alright? I was the one who willingly took up this challenge to pursue happiness with him. I don't see how us being together needs to be scrutinised from the start until the end of the day. If my folks have no objections to it, the rest of you had better jolly well shut up.

Why are people so STUPID?!

I was sitting at the cafeteria of the swimming complex after a 3 hour swim and approximately half an hour of tanning (so obviously I am blacker than before right?). A group of secondary school girls were having a quick snack at the table adjacent to mine and they were all staring my way because "a malay girl is eating non-halal food".

BIRD-BRAINED BIMBOS!

Post-exam!!!

The day we've all been waiting for since the term started has finally arrived. BUAHAHAHA!! Well, I get a month's rest before heading back to SGH for my surgical posting. No more kids this time. Haiyoh.. not that I can't stand their cryings and stuff; I don't frickin' understand their lingo!! So how to manja them when I don't even know what they want?! Plus, some parents are just kan cheong spiders lah. Talk to them also can get migrane! (not forgetting the extra badge we have to pin on our uniforms for security reasons... make my chest feel damn heavy!)

I had my last paper yesterday evening... AND IT WAS SITI'S BIRTHDAY!

Clara and I planned a surprise party for her and we pulled it off! So the poor woman was oh-so-lonely at home and watching TV when we burst into her house with an ice-cream cake and a handmade card. I took a video of it all happening using Miss C's camera... but I didn't manage to get the look of astonishment on Siti's face when she saw Clara at her doorstep with the cake. Dang! Wasted!

Cookies n' Cream ice-cream is too damn good! Sadly, I had my dinner before heading to the birthday girl's residence and therefore only had ONE serving. Bah!

Those two bobos kept calling me "Kimberly" throughout the night. Argh!! Super irritating lah! I don't really like people calling me by my full name because my dad does that when he's REALLY pissed with me. So people, I'd rather you guys stick to calling me Kim or Kimmi. Either one also can lah.

The only people permitted to call me Kimberly includes (but not limited to):

-People whom I do not like
-People whom I'm not familiar with
-My dad (when he's angry)

If you don't fall under any of those categories, GOOD FOR YOU! And I bet it's much more convenient to say "Kim" than "Kimberly".

Took quite a few pictures last night. I'll post it up here and on Friendster when that giant sends it all to me (hopefully by this week), so Phoebe can slowly go view it all on my profile =p

Oh, and one more thing ya'll can look forward to; I'll finish blogging about our remaining days in Thailand. Wah... more than two months have passed since our trip ended and I only blogged about our first two days there. HAHAHAHA!!! Not that I wanna delay lor... Blame school!!

I ran into Thamarai on Tuesday at the Sports Complex and that woman couldn't recognise me!! C'mon man, it's only been two months and a few days!! How much could I have possibly changed?! The rest of the girls from the trip had better not erase me from their memory... otherwise... I'll do the unthinkable!!

I'm gonna watch a movie now =D

Keeping up with the suspense!

Quite a few people are beginning to suspect. But I'm not saying a word until the time's right. Currently, it's better for it all to be under the wraps. *winks*

Back to the final lapse of Paediatric Nursing!

Good luck, girlfriends!!!

If I'm not already the biggest goofball around

I woke up this morning, sipped my juice and decided to dial my partner in crime to ask what time she would be boarding for Canada. She answered my call, I asked her where was she then and her reply was:

"I'm already on the plane."

Now I gotta wait until she comes back again in December. BUMMER!!

A belated National Day post

I didn't just bum around at home this National Day. Neither did I dress up in red & white and make my way to the Esplanade to view the fireworks. This year, I did something different with Raiden ;)

Why did he have to wear the red shirt that says "I love Singapore"?!

I finally managed to catch The Simpsons Movie after much delaying. Not by choice lor... blame the attachments!

Turns out, the movie was quite a disappointment! I had this major gag reflex when Marge and Homer smooched at the end of the show. Gosh... I was hoping to have Lisa make out with Colin instead but well, whatever Matt Groening says, goes. I still find it disgusting though. No offence.

We dined at Ben&Jerry's while waiting for the next movie to start. Cherry Garcia, Chocolate Fudge brownie and Cookie Dough with hot fudge sauce; PERFECT COMBO.

Halfway through eating, I received an sms from Siti:

"hey kimberly.. by any chance r u part of the ndp celebration @ marina? Got sum1 looks like u on TV!!......"

HAHAHAHA!!! Omg. That has got to be the joke of the day. Raiden and I were laughing non-stop over it. Siti, you rock!

Rush Hour 3 is the movie ya'll should watch! Definately worth my $9.50! I was already laughing my ass off the first minute into the movie. Dang! Chris Tucker rocks! And since when did Jackie's character learn to speak Japanese? Hmm... that's probably the only screw up of the movie.

People, listen to me! GO WATCH RUSH HOUR 3! (and try not to stuff your mouth with popcorn whenever Tucker enters the scene.)

After two movies, Mr Raiden F. made me walk all the way to the Esplanade because he wanted to see the fireworks. Why are all my friends crazy over fireworks man?! I don't like it one bit... it makes my hearing deteriorate. So we were walking past SMU when we saw a stream of people dressed in red walking in an opposite direction, towards us. Aaaawww... that means the fireworks saga is OVER!

Somehow or rather, he insisted on going to The Esplanade to enjoy the "post-parade party". BUT WAS THERE A PARTY?!?! Nope! Just groups of sickening people wearing tapered jeans, sitting in groups and smoking their lungs away were present. There were also a few monkeys attempting circus stunts on the field... I snorted the loudest ever snort when one of them landed on his butt.

Restaurants in that area were all packed to the max! Even Makan Sutra was overcrowded. Marina Square had nothing good to offer either, so he bloody made me walk back to Orchard Road!! Took us half an hour to walk there. And in the end, only bought drinks and never eat. I could've killed myself!

Whatever happened after the drinks is not for anyone to know. BUAHAHAHAHA! Nothing dirty happened, so you perverts can stop thinking whatever it is you're thinking. What we did was more towards "crazy" rather than "dirty". This resulted in the both of us having fever and therefore, I couldn't make it for the last day of attachment. *screams in agony* Make-up session on Saturday.

Raiden, the next time you decide to go from one part of the island to the other, TAKE THE TRAIN!

Me? VEGETARIAN?!

Forget it lah! As long as Cajun Chicken and medium-well black pepper steaks exist, I will NEVER go green.

That is, until Avian Influenza and Mad Cow disease strikes.

MooMooCow, please DON'T get mad (pun intended)

End of Paediatrics attachment.

FINALLY!!

I am so thankful that I was on morning shift today. Otherwise, I'd still be stuck in that ward. I pity those who're on afternoon shift; Shan Shan, gerry, Clarabelle, Ee Kee, Sue, Sin Rui, Hasli.. They have roughly another 40 minutes or so before they can pack up and escape all the crying, bottle-feeding and soiled diapers. BUAHAHAHA!!

Shan't say much about this attachment since "this is the suckiest attachment ever"
(Quoted by: Siti Rashidah Ayu, 2007)
How about letting the pictures do all the talking? Enjoy.

EN Normah, the world's most psychotic paediatric nurse!!

SN Joanna; one of the few SNs who're NOT fucked up. =)
East Viewians of Class 2004... recognise this hunk ol' burning nursing student???

Thorn among the roses?... NAWT!!!

We deliberately took this picture at the nurses' station to spike some people cause we were feeling REALLY bitchy.

Say Hi to: Seri, kimmi, shidah and gerry!

We left the ward at 3pm SHARP! Thanks, Mdm Doris, for your guidance.

Family photo!! (ps: i don't know why H is grinning from ear to ear.)

Back to SGH on Monday. Woohoo!! Nicer food at cheaper prices.
