Hehehe! Time to rejoice!

My A&E and Major OT postings are over... well, I am relieved that I can finally get enough sleep, but kinda sad that it's all over (especially for OT!!!). Knowing that I'll be going back to the wards for PRCP is freaking me out. I do enjoy working there, but what I can't stand the patient's relatives sometimes. They're more kan cheong than the patients themselves and occasionally, I feel like making them switch attires with the patients so I can nurse them for their tachycardia instead.

So here's a brief summary of what I've been through for OT (not much to write about A&E lah) though some of you might find it boring..

131008 - Monday (O&G Theatre)

#Laporoscopy Ovarian Cystectomy
#Bilateral Laporotomy

#Vaginal Hysterectomy
(2nd half of the day was spent on orientation so I didn't see much on the first day)

141008 - Tuesday (Colorectal)

#Eua + Fistulotomy (SCRUBBED)

# Ultra low anterior resection - CA Rectum

#Total Colectomy - CA Caecum + Sigmoid Polyp

#Laporotomy + Right Hemicolectomy - Desc. CA Colon

151008 - Wed (Recept/Recovery)

Lalalala! I was with Haslinda for the day and we found out from SEN Osman that a MediaCorp actress had a boob job done in SGH. Hahahaha!! I can't say who, but I'm gonna say that she's one of the prettiest actresses around and I'm a fan of hers (despite the silicone breasts) :D

161008 - Thursday (General Surgery)

Haslina overheard some nurses commenting that there was gonna be a 6 hours op for one of the theatres and she told me, "Wei, sekali it's YOUR theatre ah... today you got only one case, right?". Of course I said CHOY at the loudest possible tone and went to my theatre with Anju. Upon arrival, MY THEATRE REALLY KENA THE 6 HOUR OP! I wanted to murder Haslinda on the spot!!!

And then!!

We received a call that the patient's temperature spiked overnight and she was unwell for op. Thus, Anju & I had to look for Sister Carol so she could re-allocate us.

I was assigned to the O&G theatre again (with Angie) and there's a CAESERIAN SECTION 2nd on the list!!! Overjoyed!!! The best part is, the mother was having TWINS! Angie & I were super doped and kept looking at the clock and praying for the 1st procedure to be over.

1st proecdure: THBSO - endometrial polyp, suspicious for malignancy

The surgeon discovered multiple adhesions on the patient's colon during the op and so the procedure was extended...

8 BLOODY HOURS AH!!!

One operation lasting from 8.30am to well after 4pm! That's one whole shift lahh! Worse than the 6 hour "whipple operation" I was previously assigned for! Angie and I stayed back just to observe the C-section and I didn't regret it one bit :) The mummy gave birth to a boy and a girl... both were so TINY, omg!! SSN Goh also stayed back with us and she was so cute! Wahahaha! Bah, she wasn't around on our last day so never take photo with her :(

171008 - Friday (Plastic theatre)

Now here's where all the plastic surgery goes on. Apparently, boob jobs are common amongst Singaporean women... and I read in the papers that it's a popular gift that parents get for their child on their Sweet Sixteen! WTF! I didn't receive implants on my 16th birthday!! Did you?!

#Serial excision upper limbs & trunk
(this girl is super poor thing lah. her dress caught fire when she was 5 and burnt her limbs & torso. and she's super rich too man! came from overseas just for the op and she's staying in Class A1+ ok!!! Better than Class A1!)

#Revision breast augmentation & upper blepharoplasty

(in layman's term, boob job & double eyelids op)

#Orif facial

I could've seen a nose job too, but patient postponed the op. Wasted!!!!

Now PICTURES!!!

a couple more on Multiply :))
